TheCity of Auburn in partnership with Placer County is holding a PharmaceuticalWaste Collection Event to take unwanted medications (both prescription andover-the-counter) from citizens. Unwanted mediations should not be dumped intothe toilet or down the drain. Bring them to this free collection event. What: Free Pharmaceutical Waste Collection Event –drive through for quick drop off! When: Saturday, October 11, 2008 from10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Where: City of Auburn Administration Building parking lot at 1225 Lincoln Way Who: Any Placer County resident Why: Unwanted medications poured down the drain ortoilet enter our waterways
and endanger aquatic wildlife. Dispose of them properly at this free collectionevent. All collected medications will be disposed ofproperly through incineration and thus kept out of the waterways where they maycause harm to aquatic wildlife. Anymedication except syringes or “sharps”will be collected. Citizens are asked to blackout any personal information from prescription containers but leave the labelsintact.
